Coming Soon – Striking by Lila Felix and Rachel Higginson

You guys have to see this cover for the new novel by Lila Felix and Rachel Higginson.
It.Is.Gorgeous!!  And honestly, I’m not usually a fan of people on the covers.
But this one?! So amazing.
I especially love the sparks around the title.
You all know we love Rachel around here (heck, the blog should probably be renamed “The Rachel Higginson Book Review Blog”).  But we haven’t read anything from Lila.
After reading the synopsis of Striking – we may (probably… more than likely) just get sucked into Lila World!

Striking comes out September 1st!!!
Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00069]Can two hearts be forged into one?

Cami Montgomery stole a car and smashed it into the front of a building in upscale Beverly Hills after a lousy date with the epitome of sleaze balls. The worst part, her parents are following through on threats after this latest plea for attention. Banished from her L.A. paradise and plunged into the Appalachian Mountains with her industrious aunt and uncle, Cami is about to find out how precious life really is.

Stockton Wright has been thrust into a hard life. He sacrifices everything to give his family and community what they need. He’s exhausted from life and work—and he’s only twenty four. What he needs is some change, and some sunshine. Even he will agree to that. He just doesn’t expect to find it in a stuck up, pompous, entitled Californian.

Cami bursts into Stockton’s life like wildfire, consuming all his thoughts and tangling him in her web. What starts out as a contentious rivalry evolves into a desire neither of them expected. When hammer meets metal, will they crack under pressure or be forged as one?

Cami and Stockton might just end up being exactly what the other one needs, but first their love will have to be drawn out in fire.

Check out our review of The Selection (The Selection #1) by Kiera Cass here.

Cover Appeal (because, let’s face it, we all know we judge books by their covers)
I am in love with the dresses in these covers. They are stunning! The whole reason I picked up The Selection was because of the cover.  This one is just as amazing!

Willingness to Put Down
So – I had to reread The Selection before I read The Elite, since I couldn’t remember everything that had happened.  I reread The Selection in a day.  I read The Elite, also in a day.
Even though the clock was hitting 2am, then 3am, I just couldn’t put the thing down!  I kept looking at the percent, saying “Just a little more, almost there!!”
My husband even asked me before he went to bed if I have to finish the books in a day.  I told him no, that most books I read, I can put down to go to bed.  Little did I know, this was not going to be one of them.  Well, I suppose I should have known, because I seriously loved The Selection – it only goes to say I would love The Elite!!

You guys!  This story.  Ahhh… It had my heart pumping the whole way through!
At the end of The Selection, I was worried about Aspen. I was worried America would through everything away that she had going with Maxon to be with Aspen. You know, the one who broke her heart and turned her away.  Gah, stupid Aspen!!
So, I was nervous about this book.  And yes, there were parts with Aspen that I absolutely HATED!!  Like… I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall, find Kiera on Twitter and just scream at her for making this so complicated!
But the Maxon parts.  Oh, those parts made up for the stupid Aspen parts.  Maxon puts up with A LOT from America.  And seriously, my heart was breaking during some moments.  You know, like where the hell did Kriss come from?! It’s like she’s just moseying along and then BAM, she’s one of the top girls. I want to hate her, but she’s just so darn nice.
But it broke my heart a little that Maxon was maybe moving on. America, get your head out of your butt and see what you have in front of you!!  Ugh!!

All the frustration aside, this story was amazing.  Complicated, confusing and annoying.. but amazing.

Heart Fluttering/School Girl Giggling/Tears
I’m going to say it. All those moments with Maxon, had me swooning. The Halloween dance & after the last interview, especially.
I suppose I should also add in moments that made my heart freaking break. Those Aspen moments and Maxon/Kriss moments.  Oh… and what happened with Marlee?! Yikes.
Thank you Kiera Cass for ripping my heart out and stomping on it.

Leading Man’s Boyfriend Potential (if acceptable)
Maxon…. Sigh… I don’t know what to say about him, that I haven’t already. Although, now we know that he will do ANYTHING for America. And that pretty much just made me love him more.
Seriously, if you only read these books for Maxon, it’ll be worth it!!

Favorite Scene (without giving anything away… just to get you to really want to read)
My absolute favorite scene in this book was when Maxon and America were locked in that safe room together, starting at 85%.  Yes, it was heart breaking.. but it was also amazing!
Oh, I also really loved the rebel attack that caused America to run into the woods. I don’t know why, I really loved what happened in the woods.

Favorite Quotes
“You know that you’ve found something amazing, and you want to hold on to it forever; and every second after you have it, you fear the moment you might lose it.”

“I know, I know. It’s hard to explain. All I can say is that I’ve been given a second chance. Maxon matters to me, and I’m going to fight for him.”

“I know there was a time, when our country was new, when the assignment of these numbers helped organize something that was on the brink of not existing. But we are no longer that country. We are so much more now.”

“Love is beautiful fear.”

Love & Decay Episode 3 – Rachel Higginson

Love & Decay Episode 3Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.

On the heels of escaping Gary and his camp of militia, Reagan, Haley and the Parker brothers are traveling south without a car and not much in the way of weapons. Conditions are bleak, but they have each other and they have hope.

When an unexpected thunderstorm hits and they are exposed on the open road, the group must fine shelter in an abandoned barn. The structure is crumbling and dirty but they are able to escape the worst of the storm. Hoping to make it through the blustery night, they make camp and hope for the best.

However, when a horde of Zombies follows them, they realize how precarious their temporary lodging is and how unlikely it is they will survive the night.

Now they must find a way to fight off the aggressive Feeders while still keeping everyone alive. They are low on ammo, fighting blind in the dark and struggling against the elements.

Reagan has come to care for this group too much to lose someone now. But staying alive until sunrise feels like the hardest task yet. She’s used to danger, killing and surviving; but nowadays she’s not as concerned with her own life as she is with those that surround her. Protecting those she loves comes with great cost, but it’s a fight she’s desperate to win.

Overall Rating: Worth Checking Out

**I received this as an ARC from Rachel in exchange for an honest review.**

Cover Appeal (because, let’s face it, we all know we judge books by their covers)
Since it’s a novella series, it’s the same cover as L&D Ep. 1 & 2. Simple and stunning.

Willingness to Put Down
Um…. I read this probably quicker than I read the last two.  I was hooked from the beginning.  I mean… there was tension. There was scenes with Hendrix and Reagan right away – that were amazing!  Then it was “holy crap, fight for your life” – which were so intense, I want to see you try and walk away from it in the middle!  Then you get to the “oh, they are alone – is this finally going to happen?!”  And the next thing you know, they are in a van, driving away – and it’s the end of Episode 3.
It went by much too quickly for my liking… I want more!!!  Yes, I’m being greedy, and I’m totally okay with that right now!!

This episode has a mixture of it all. Laughing, flirting, crazy zombie fighting, intense (sad) moments… Gosh, I love it!
We finally find out who the Parker family is. We find out a little of their back story… you know, how they were able to survive for so long – and how they knew how to survive.  We also find out why it is so important for them to all survive (aside from the obvious reasons).
And finally – FINALLY we see something more than just angst between Hendrix and Reagan. Like – actual, honest to God, flirting!  Like – actual physical contact.  Sigh…
And on the flip side, we see flirting from Vaughan too – which I slightly cringed at, because Reagan was completely flirting too… whether she knew she was or not.  Quite frustrating, especially with the scene right before that!
And holy hell – that Zombie fight scene. I was on the edge of my seat reading that. Fear and dread filled me as I felt like one of the gang was going to go down.  I still feel like it’s only a matter of time before someone gets Zombiefied… And that fight… that was a freaking close one.

Heart Fluttering/School Girl Giggling/Tears
I was laughing right away.  I couldn’t help it… Reagan was covered in Zombie goo – and she was freaking out and Haley wasn’t much help.  It was all very humorous to me.
And then my heart was fluttering with scenes of Reagan and Hendrix… Not only was that scene absolutely adorable, but we also finally saw a different side to Hendrix, than just the ridged, intense guy that he is.
Oh – and the whole swimming scene.  Oh.My.Goodness. I laughed so hard!
And Chapter 2?!?  Well – that one had my emotions all over the freaking place!!  I was literally on the verge of tears at one point.  It’s just…. sigh.. I get teary eyed just thinking of it.
Oh, and I was really expecting something, anything to happen in Chapter 4.  And while some things were cleared up – it still left me wanting for more.
I swear Rachel – there better be more in Episode 4!!!

Leading Man’s Boyfriend Potential (if acceptable)
I know I’ve said there was a potential love triangle.  And I’m sure Rachel is going to continue to push it – because stories are more exciting with tension, right?!  And it’s not like there is enough tension what with the trying to survive and not get eaten by Zombies… Let’s just add two brothers ‘fighting’ over a girl.
But, regardless… I’m throwing Vaughan right out the window.  Sure, he’s sweet and caring and nice and all that… but he’s not right for Reagan.  He’s not freaking Hendrix!!
Please Rachel, just bring in a new girl for Vaughan.. I want to see him happy.. but not happy with Reagan – I don’t think I could take that!!

Anyway, Hendrix… Sigh.  I love Hendrix.  I love Reagan and Hendrix.  I love their connection, I love their spark, I love their undeniable attraction to each other – even though they both try to fight it.  I just love them so.freaking.much!!
And here is one reason why:

He turned his head so that our foreheads rested against each other. We didn’t say anymore, didn’t even open our eyes. We just stayed like that, breathing each other’s air and sinking into the moment. Page was nestled in Hendrix’s lap and after a while her even breathing mingled with others. Still, Hendrix and I stayed pressed against each other.
Eventually, my head fell to his shoulder again and I stayed wrapped in his warmth and strength. He placed a sweet kiss on the top of my head and then whispered that I should sleep.

Favorite Scene (without giving anything away… just to get you to really want to read)
Chapter 1: The river scene.
Chapter 2: The Parker brothers talking about their past.
Chapter 4: Hendrix/Reagan in the trailer.

Favorite Quotes
“Go swimming. We’re all going swimming. We are all going regular, normal, completely not-code-for anything swimming.” – Nelson

Hendrix – “Geez, Reagan, you’re such a girl.”
Reagan – “Lucky for you.”
Hendrix – “Lucky for me.”

“Don’t ever feel bad for what you did. You saved lives; you saved people you love- people I now love. And you saved me.” – Reagan

“See why you stay behind me? It’s not just for your sake. I might need you as much as you need me.” – Hendrix

“This could almost make me thankful for Zombies.” – Hendrix

Vlog Episode 1 – Left Drowning by Jessica Park

Hey guys!
So, Hales and I decided that it might be easier (cough-for miss slacker-cough) to do a Vlog review for books.
Hopefully she’s not giving up completely on actual blog reviews – but who knows.
So, we’ll hopefully be doing one vlog each week.  It’s nice to actual talk to her face, instead of to the text message on the phone!  And yes, since we are in two different cities – it’s nice to be able to see her face!

Hales wanted our first review to be Left Drowning by Jessica Park.  As you know, I already reviewed the book on the blog – but it is such an amazing book, it deserved another review!!

So, check it out.

Cover Appeal (because, let’s face it, we all know we judge books by their covers)
I love this cover! It is gorgeous, yet dark. The castle looks amazing.  I just seriously love this cover!!

Willingness to Put Down
Let me start by saying this was the second time I read the book. The first time, was last December. I started it the day it was released – then gave birth two days later… and ended up finishing it at the end of the month.  It took me a month to read the book.  And I don’t know if it was because of the craziness in my life, or if I was expecting something different from the book… but I didn’t like it. I didn’t like to it the point that my review of it to Hales, put her off of the book, and she still hasn’t read it.  Oy.
BUT – let’s get back to this read through. I was hoping since I just re-read the first four book, I would hopefully love this one – and my life is just a bit less crazy now… Oh yeah, and it didn’t take me a freaking month to read it!
I’ll admit, it was pretty slow for me in the beginning.  And it was really hard to wrap my head around the fact that this is Avalon’s story, and Eden and Kiran were not going to be the main characters.  And since I fell in love with that duo, I missed them.  Sure you see them a little, but I just missed them.
So getting into Avalon’s head was a little hard for me.  Plus, this story takes place 3 years after Endless Magic ends.  So, the characters have all grown up and changed.  So, I guess it was hard for me get attached to this ‘new’ set of characters.
That being said, once I got into the story – and a little more action started and Avalon was pursuing Amelia, I started to enjoy it immensely.
It definitely didn’t grip me as much as the first four books – seeing as it took me 4 days to read, instead of the typical one, but I did love it this time around!

I guess I kind of explained it already, but the characters have grown up. They are different than the first four books.  Maybe it’s just me – but that’s how I saw it.  I mean, they are still them – but just grown up a bit.
And the story – oh the story.  I swear like, everything that could go bad does in this book.  I mean, crazy guy Terletov (you know, the guy who shot and kidnapped Eden in Endless Magic?!), yeah… he’s back, and he’s crazier than ever!  Conducting ‘experiments’ and god knows what else on poor immortals and even worse, humans.
Oh… and what the hell, Rachel?!?!  What else does poor Lilly have to go through before you can just leave her alone?!?!  I mean, couldn’t you just give the girl a break and let her live happily ever after with Talbott?!?!  UGH!!  Omg – this part hurt like a bitch to read:

“It was in his face then. Grief. Despair. Pain. Outrage.
He crumbled. I watched one of the strongest men I knew, crumble to the ground and come apart. He was a broken man, undone by grief.”

I mean….. SERIOUSLY?!?!  I swear they better get their happily ever after, Rachel – or… or…. or I don’t even know what…. UGH!

Heart Fluttering/School Girl Giggling/Tears
Aside from the freaking heart wrenching moment posted above… There were many laugh out loud moments.  In the beginning with Amelia:
“My infatuation with him was bordering on obsessive and I felt nothing more than a pathetic fan girl.”

And then all the Avalon thinking of Eden and Kiran doing…. well anything together.  Oh Avalon… too funny.  When he walked in on them in the throne room… Bahahaha!
Eden – “Oh don’t be a baby, it’s not like we were having sex.”
Avalon – I let out a growl of disgust and slapped my hands over my ears. “Don’t ever say that word around me again. Ever!”
Or this part:
Eden – “No, but he did slice my hand open in a blood oath and I am not about to let him near my hoo-ha.”
Avalon – I immediately covered my ears like a child. Some topics would always and forever, as in forever ever, be off limits.

And this hilarious part where I choked the water I was drinking..
Amelia – “Ugh, you know meat grosses me out.”
Seraphina – “I know you need to get over it and start dating.”
Amelia – “That was so not the meat I was referring to.”
Seraphina – “You alright there, Avalon?”
Avalon – “Just fine.”
Amelia – “Relax Avalon, it’s not your meat I’m interested in.”
Eden – “Ugh, so gross. Siblings, remember? No more talking about Avalon’s meat.”

And when Avalon and Jericho meet up with is old team…
Avalon – “King powers?”
Xavier – “What? That’s what I would call them. Hell, I would get all the ladies with my King powers…”
Jericho – “Oh yeah, except Avalon’s apparently doing the exact opposite of that with his King powers.”
Or this one…
Xander – “What is it?”
Xavier – “Titus.”
Jericho – “Oh you mean because Avalon’s so worried about him and what almost happened?
Xavier – “That’s right. Avalon is very concerned with Titus and his recovery.”
Avalon – “I hate you all.”
Xander – “But if you had to choose, I mean like rate us. Who do you hate the most?”
Avalon – “You.”
Xander – “That hurts my feelings.”

Oh and let’s just say… the kissing scenes are un-freaking-believable!!  Sigh…

Leading Man’s Boyfriend Potential (if acceptable)
I always knew Avalon was this tough, sexy, bad boy, leader….. You know.  But seriously, I never thought he would settle down.  I imagined him being a bachelor for life (you know, like he stated himself in Endless Magic).
But my oh my… When he sets his mind on something – he is going to get it.  And in the case of his love life, he set his eyes on Amelia – and she really never stood a chance.
He’s all tough, bad boy King, fighter and what-not… but when he falls for Amelia, he’s like this sweet, protective (well, he’s always been protective), moody, fluffy teddy bear.  Ha.

I will say, the love story in this book seemed a little rushed.  But, it also doesn’t have four books to build.  So, I guess I understand… but at the same time – holy crap, with what happened at the end!  Didn’t see that coming!!  But it was sweet, and I can understand where Avalon was coming from.

Favorite Scene (without giving anything away… just to get you to really want to read)
Scene 1: Avalon, Jericho & Talbott in the hallway. (5%)
Scene 2: Visiting Ileana. (13%)
Scene 3: The first kiss. (31%)
Scene 4: Breakfast – Avalon figuring out the nausea. (53%)
Scene 5: Lunch with Aunt Syl. (83%)
Scene 6: Amelia and Avalon at Kingsley. (88%)

Favorite Quotes
Avalon – “What are you so pissed off about?”
Jericho – “You make people wait for you now? You really have turned into a pretentious prick.”
Avalon – “That’s what happens when all your friends abandon you! You lose sight of the little people and embrace the douchebag crown you were given.”
Jericho – “It’s good to see you again, Avalon, even if you are a complete and utter sell out.”

Avalon – “I suppose you would know all about what to do when a woman says no.”
Kiran – “I would. I would also know a little something about fighting for the woman I love.”

Jericho – “Huh, I never thought I’d see the day.”
Avalon – “You still might not. She’s pushing me away for a reason, and it might just be because she’s the only female on Earth not completely affected by my boyish charm and alarming good looks.”

Amelia – “At least when Lucan was King, I didn’t have to worry about him ogling me like a caveman.”

‘Yes, Avalon St. Andrews god of all kissing.’

Amelia – “And how long will you be able to stand me?”
Avalon – “Always.”
Amelia – “Always?”
Avalon – “Always.”

Avalon – “I figured as much, I’ve been told I’ve a very difficult person to get along with.”
Amelia – “Who told you that?”
Avalon – “Mostly Eden. And Jericho, and Kiran and uh, Talbott… Lilly says that a lot too I suppose. Actually the list could go on and on.”

Eden – “Ok, but then Amelia and I are going shopping. My brother somehow managed to bring her into this country without any clothes of her own.”
Kiran – “Well played, Avalon.”

Avalon – “I know that you were created for me. I know without a shadow of a doubt that you were brought to life to exist for me. And I for you. You make me the best version of myself. You make me want to be King and I didn’t even think that was possible!”

Overall Rating: Worth Checking Out

Series Rating: Perfection – seriously, this is probably in my top 5 favorite series, ever! Simply amazing!!

Cover Appeal (because, let’s face it, we all know we judge books by their covers)
Um… I LOVE that it has the castle on the cover!  It’s dark and ominous, and you just know something is about to go down in this book!

Willingness to Put Down
First I want to say, that I have never highlighted so much on my Kindle. I swear, every other page, I was like, “This is the best scene.” or “I love this quote!”
Second – this book is so long!  And I am saying that in the best possible way!  Honestly, I wish it was longer!!  But it was so long compared to the first three books.  I was at 30%, and thought I should be at least half way through.  It’s not like I was reading any slower!
But with that all said – this book is… A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!
I mean… I’m not even sure I can put into words how amazing this book is.  I stayed up until 2am, two nights in a row reading this.  I just could not put it down!!
I don’t remember what it was like when I first read it (I’m sure I read it in one sitting, and stayed up until 5am)… But this time around, I was still completely sucked in and just couldn’t wait to read what happens next.
There is so much happening in this book!

You start with Eden living without magic – and Kiran hiding her away from his father.  Then Eden, Kiran and Sebastian go to Avalon (and the rest of the crew) and Eden gets her magic back.  Then… Oh hell… you get swept up in the “Does Kiran have feelings for Eden?”, “Why is Kiran acting like that?”, “I wish Eden would just figure her crap out.”, “OMG, just kiss him already!!” scenes.
I cannot tell you how frustrated I got throughout the book. I really wanted to shake Eden and tell her to get over the past – and move on into the clearly willing arms of Kiran (because Kiran is AMAZING again… just to let you know).  Or how much I wished I could just rip Lucan out of the pages and punch him in the face.  Because both of these things, happened frequently.

Heart Fluttering/School Girl Giggling/Tears
Like I said before, I have so many highlights in this book. And it’s all because I’d find myself slowly smiling, or my heart flutter, or I laughed out loud.
Oh, and I totally teared up in this book.  Towards the end – I just couldn’t help it!
And I’m just going to put it out there – Rachel really knows how to play with your heart.  I’m all “Team Jericho” in Fearless, but in this book, it was Kiran, all.the.way!

Leading Man’s Boyfriend Potential (if acceptable)
Oh Rachel, and you’re messing with our minds!!
Okay – I’ll say it.  I was soooo wrong about Kiran!  I love that man. I freaking love him.
He has changed so much since the last books. He has grown, he has matured, he has realized what/who he wants to fight for.  And heck, he has never stopped loving Eden (even though it seems it).  You can always tell there is something there in him.  He is just…. amazing. Oh, and he calls Eden “Love”… it’s freaking adorable!

“All I have ever tried to do is protect you. That has been my only concern from the first day I met you. And it will continue to be my concern until the day you and your brother win this war or until you get yourself killed, whichever comes first.”

Kiran looked down at me and instinctively I looked up. I stood stunned in his gaze for a few moments, trying to reconcile the indifference I knew he felt for me and the unnerving adoration displayed across his face now. His eyes twinkled in brilliant turquoise, while his full lips were curled into a loving smile.

E – “Ok, I’ll do it! You might not even be able to tell the difference between mildly and madly!”
K – “I think I’ll be able to tell.”

And I think Eden ‘says’ it best: “Only he wasn’t the same man. He had evolved into someone even better than that man. A selfless man, willing to sacrifice himself not just for me, but for the kingdom that he believed deserved independence.”

Favorite Scene (without giving anything away… just to get you to really want to read)
The whole book!  It’s true.. but to break it down a bit, let me filter through my notes…
Scene 1: Kiran, Sebastian and Eden going through the dungeon. (6%)
Scene 2: The swimming scene. (16%)
Scene 3: The “practice kissing” scene. (27%)  Then the “We didn’t practice this.” scene.
Okay along with the above scenes, there is one from the same night at 29% and again at 32%.  So, let’s just say from 27%-32%.
Scene 4: Paris (37%-40%)
Scene 5: Eden talking to the Titan Jedrec. (48%)
Scene 6: Kiran making tea for Eden. (61%)
Scene 7: Eden and her mother talking about love. (63%)
Scene 8: Kiran and Eden opening the door to their apartment. (65%) Oh, and the apartment scene at 68%.
Scene 9: Um… the whole cabin scene starting at 75%!!!!
Scene 10: Eden/Kiran. When she finally tells him how she feels!! (90%)
Scene 11: Delia and Justice. (94%)
Seriously, there are so many more scenes that I absolutely adore, but I would just be putting down every percent of the book!

Favorite Quotes
Eden – “I know he hates me. But, I don’t know why he has to be so cruel about it.”
Sebastian – “Kiran doesn’t hate you!”
Eden – “Yeah, right!”
Sebastian – “Eden, I think there are only so many times a man can be rejected before his pride takes over.”
Eden – “You don’t have to be nice about it, Sebastian. It’s ok that he hates me, I’m not very fond of him either.”
Sebastian – “I think what you’re witnessing is something more like self-preservation.”

Avalon – “Whoa, you are so not fun to be around without magic.”
Kiran – “Tell me about it.”
Eden – “Are you kidding me right now?”
Avalon – “Ok, ok, let’s get serious.”

Avalon (in his head) – “I love you too. Hey, just try listening to Kiran every once in a while. I’m not asking you to like the guy, but it might do you some good.”
Eden – “I feel like you’ve been abducted by aliens!”

“I’m not my father, Eden. And unless you do something about my father, I will never be king.” – Kiran

“Are you serious? Eden, he wanted you to marry him. Do you remember any of this? Not show up last minute in a last-ditch effort to save your brother because you were out of every other option! You not only hurt his pride, but you broke the poor guy’s heart!” – Sebastian

Kiran – “He wanted to know if you were my wife.”
Eden – “What is it with these little kids? They are always trying to marry us off, I swear!”

“There is nothing a man will not risk when he falls in love, isn’t that true?” – Ileana

Amelia – “Eden, I could never be mad at you!”
Sebastian – “Really? I could. I could easily be mad at Eden. I’m mad at her right now.”
Kiran – “Me too, but I’m always mad at her.”

“Don’t start falling in love with him now, Eden, if you remember you told me yourself that he doesn’t love you anymore.” – Sebastian

“What? I’m just a man, leave me alone!” – Sebastian

“I loved two men and had to decide which one was my soul mate and which one was the easy choice, the…. safe choice. Eden, true love, whether you life your life on the run or spend it in the same house where you raise your children, is never easy and it’s certainly never safe. It’s a risk we take believing the reward is greater than what we give up. And darling, I can tell you from first-hand experience that it is.” – Delia

“Because you can risk everything for your kingdom, plan a future for them, but you never pictured a future with me. I am blind when it comes to you and it took me a long time to figure this out; I apologize for that because I never wanted to hurt you. In fact, I wanted to do the very opposite. I wanted to save you. But I’m not that guy; I’m not the guy that gets to save you. I’m not the guy that you daydream futures about.” – Jericho

“I love him despite all odds, but in a confident way that won’t let me question his motives or waver in my trust for him. He hurt me, yes, but I don’t think any kind of love is without some kind of hurt along the way. It’s how we get to know each other better, how we decide what’s for real… what’s the eternal stuff, what is going to push us closer together and seal the bond between us. My past doesn’t matter anymore, because Talbott is my future.” – Lilly

Avalon – “Ha! Damn right, except me. Bachelor for life, right here!”
Eden – “That will never happen. Some poor girl is going to catch your eye one day and you won’t even know what to do with yourself. I actually, already feel sorry for her…”

Jericho – “Speaking of Mr. Wonderful, how long are you going to let the poor prince suffer?”
Eden – “What do you mean?”
Jericho – “I mean, with this whole you not realizing you’re madly in love with him thing?”

Eden – My grieving period had ended with the final closure tonight and I was impatient to release my heart to the one and only boy I truly loved with everything I had.

“Hello, Love.” – Kiran

Eden – It was in his eyes that I felt calmed, grounded, and at home. His eyes held me in their hypnotizing stare and moved some part of my soul I knew instinctively would always belong to him… I loved Kiran. I knew he loved me back. It was time to tell him.

“I love you, Kiran. I think I’ve always loved you. You gave me time, but it wasn’t for Jericho, it was for me. I’ve had a rough year… a really rough year, and you and I have gone through the worst experiences. But on the other side of finding ourselves, I found my love for you never ended. I can’t help myself…I don’t want to help myself.” – Eden

“And you’re right, I do love you Eden. I will follow you into eternity, or until after this weekend when we all die gruesome, painful deaths… But with every breath I have left, I will use it to love you. Because, Eden, I want this… You; I want you more than life, more than anything. There was a time when I didn’t think I was strong enough to face you again, or what is between us. I was too afraid of the heartache, of being shattered again. But now, it doesn’t matter, nothing matters except you. I will take an eternity of hardship, of war or fighting my father, or anything, just to hold your love again. You are everything to me, my sun, my moon, the air I breathe. Nothing exists accept you. I love you.” – Kiran

Kiran stirred next to me, his face nuzzling against my neck. “I love you, Eden,” he whispered with all the emotion he was capable of.
“I love you too, Kiran,” I whispered back, the words falling from my mouth and resounding with truth.
I loved him. My prince. My soul mate.

“And I could not let my daughter or my son feel responsible for the lives you planned to take today. They are good and strong, and they will rule this kingdom after they destroy you. They will restore our immortality; they will bring peace and life again. You may take my life today, I will grant you this, but soon, very soon they will take yours and my sacrifice will be for the greater good of my people.” – Delia

Kiran – “Eden?”
Eden – “Yes?”
Kiran – Will you marry me?”
Eden – “Any day but May first.”

“No, Love, if anyone deserves happiness, it’s you. You deserve all the happiness in this world.” – Kiran
